POWER4
IBM's processor generation that preceded POWER5, the last generation before Micro-Partitioning and simultaneous multithreading were introduced to the Power line.
POWER4 was IBM's Power processor generation before POWER5, notable as the industry's first dual-core processor design at its introduction. POWER5 succeeded it in 2004, adding Micro-Partitioning and SMT.
