CPW

Commercial Processing Workload

IBM's relative performance benchmark for IBM i systems, used to compare processing capacity across different Power hardware generations and models.

CPW is IBM's relative performance rating for comparing IBM i processing capacity across hardware. It's relative, not an absolute transaction count, a Power5 system's CPW rating is a small fraction of a current Power11 system's, reflecting seven generations of core-count and per-core performance gains.
