Runs with IBM iYes ... Minimum i5/OS V5R3. An IOP must be present because i5/OS talks to the card only through an IOP.

IBM lists Models 520, 525, 550 and 570. It was required on the original 570 POWER5 units and was withdrawn for the 570 in 2005, replaced by #5726 (POWER5) or #5728 (570+). #5727 is the later 40 MB card that can also run without an IOP. IBM writes 'Model 520' without a machine type, so both 520 types are listed.

Before you order 5709

The drive bay and controller setup decides how many drives the server can hold and how they are protected. Changing it usually means planning downtime, so check it against your machine type first.
