Runs with IBM iYes ... Midland gives OS/400 V5R4 or later and says it is not supported as a load source with i5/OS V5R4 and V5R4M5 machine code or earlier. IBM says i5/OS does not yet support the 282.25 GB drive as a load source.

Our sources do not list 4329 for a Power 5 machine type. Some sellers still list it for Power 5. Before you buy, confirm it against your exact machine type.

Midland lists system-unit placement in 520, 525, 550 and 570 units, which are POWER5 models. IBM says the 282.25 GB drive is not formally supported on POWER5 models and that the #1269 cannot be placed in a system unit or tower.

Power 6 only. IBM says the 282.25 GB drive, announced July 2007, is supported on POWER6 models and not formally supported on POWER5 models. In IBM's CCIN cross-reference, 4329 is the CCIN of the #1269 282.25 GB EXP24 drive. Midland describes #4329 as the same drive when placed in a system unit or I/O tower and calls it physically identical to #1269.

IBM sells many drives in two versions: one formatted for IBM i and one for AIX or Linux. Order the one that matches your operating system, and match the carrier to the bay or drawer it goes in.
